Buick Lucerne - Pictures and Review

The Buick Lucerne is built alongside the Cadillac DTS at GM's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. GM leads all other automakers in Strategic Vision's Total Quality Index (TQI). for the past three years, the plant has won Initial Quality Awards from J.D. Power and Associates.
Initial sales of the Lucerne have been with the car claiming 24% of the full-size sedan market in the United States.
Buick Park Avenue and the LeSabre were replaced in the 2006 by Buick Lucerne that is full-size car sold by the Buick division of General Motors. The production Lucerne introduced at the Chicago Auto Show on February 2005 rides on the revised H-body platform of the late Pontiac Bonneville.

First generation (2006–present)

The Lucerne uses the standard Buick 3800 V6, with a Cadillac Northstar V8 available as an option, like the similar 2005 Pontiac Bonneville. Since the demise of the Roadmaster in 1996, the Lucerne became the first V8-powered Buick car.
The Lucerne is also available with an active suspension technology - the Corvette's Magnetic Ride Control.
V8 option causes the price to reach price levels of the Park Avenue, so the Lucerne's base price is lower than that of the LeSabre - its predecessor. The Luceerne  features "Ventiports" on the front fenders corresponding to the number of cylinders in the engine — four on each side for the V8 Northstar or three on each side for the V6, this is making for keeping with Bucik traditions.
For 2008 the Lucerne gets some updates like revised exterior colors and  a lane departure warning system.. Two new trim levels have been added: Super and CXL Special Edition (with more standard features than regular CXL). Lucerne sales have remained brisk through much of 2007.
Buick will also be available as a flex-fuel vehicle at no additional cost. For 2009 the Lucrene gets some upgrades, including XM NavTraffic, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a new engine. For 2010, the Lucerne adds the Super's rocker panels, grille, and fog lights to the entire Lucene  lineup.

About Safety.

The Buicck Lucerne earns an “Acceptable” score in the side impact test and “Good” overall score in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety front impact test.

The Lucerne Super

Production of the Lucerne Super began in 2008.
Lucerne Super is a more powerful, upscale trim of the original Lycerne. It was introduced at the 2007 New York Auto Show. Lucerne Super adds 17 hp (13 kW) to the CXS model's V8 with an enhanced 4.6L Northstar V-8 engine. Addition of a spoiler to the rear and updated styling to the front end aims to create a sportier and bolder look.
