Chevrolet HHR - Pictures and Review

In the 2005 at the Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2006 model  the Chevrolet HHR (for Heritage High Roof) was launched by the Chevrolet division of American automaker General Motors. It was designed by Bryan Nesbitt and it is a small retro-styled compact station wagon. The HHR shares the GM Delta platform with the Pontiac G5, Saturn Astra Chevrolet Cobalt, and Saturn Ion and it smaller than the Chevrolet Equinox..

The vehicle's design is inspired specifically from the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban which has a hemispherical grille and square and large fender flares, and also from the mid-1940s Chevrolet cars and trucks. The design of the HHR has been credited to a person who was former designer at Chrysler and he was the lead designer of the Chrysler PT Cruiser - Bryan Nesbitt.

Nesbitt worked for a time as the chief designer of the Chevropet brand and was recruited by GM to join its design staff and served. The HRH has a large cargo-carrying capacity for a car of its size with 62.7 cubic feet. All models have fold-flat front passenger seat and flat-load floor (passenger models have 60/40 split bench). A panel van variant was made available in 2007 but only for the LT trim and in 2008 it became available on all trim levels. HH is available in four trim levels LT, LS, 2LT, and Special Edition for the 2007 model year.
Director of car marketing and retail integration for Chverolet  - Cheryl Catton, confirmed in October 2006 that there would be built a high performance variant of the HR. The vehicle was expected to use the Ecotec LNF turbocharged engine found in the Saturn Sky Red Line and Pontiac Solstice GXP, and to be released with SS moniker for the 2008 model year.
At the Woodward Dream Cruise in Birmingham on 16 August 2007, Cuevrolet  officially revealed the 2008 Chevrolte  HHRR SS Turbocharged. In fall 2007 it was introduced as a 2008 model. The SS Turbocharged features an intercooler and a 2.0 L (120 cu in) turbocharged Ecotec LNF I4 engine that produces 260 bhp (190 kW) and 235 bhp (175 kW) with the optional 4-speed automatic, five-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter, standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes, race-tuned high-performance suspension, ground effects with unique front and rear fascias, liftgate-mounted aero spoiler, aggressive black cross-mesh grille, an analog A-pillar-mounted titanium boost gauge, unique 18 in (460 mm) high-polished aluminum wheels and leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio controls.
On 30 October 2007 at the 2007 SEMA Show Chevroleg also introduced the HHR SS Panel Concept.
Side curtain airbags became standard for 2008 models however side torso airbags are unavailable, so In IIHS tests HHHR receives an "Acceptable" score in side impacts on models equipped with side curtain airbags and a "Good" overall score in the frontal offset crash test.

The HHR is available for sale throughout North America and is assembled in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. The motor vehicles business unit of Mitsui determined HHR to be exported in Japan too. Through June 2006 first year sales exceeded 93,000.

Alongside its predecessor, the Opel-sourced Chevroled Zafira compact MPV, HHR was sold in Mexico.
