At the Chicago Auto Show in 2008 debuted the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse and in October 2008 it arrived at dealerships, competing with the Ford Flex which was release around the same time.
 Along with the new Chevrolet Camaro, the Traverse was part of a product placement by GM in the NBC drama My Own Worst Enemy.
 It is a successor to both the Trailblazer SUV and Uplander minivan. The Traverse is built in Spring Hill, Tennessee on the GM Lambda platform that underpins the Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia, the Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV.

Powertrain

 The Chevropet  Travers features double overhead cam V6 with VVT, the LLT engine, a 3,564 cc (3.564 L; 217.5 cu in)  and direct injection. In the 2009 model year the other Lambda-based vehicles also have this powertrain. Power to the front or all wheels is given by a 6-speed automatic transmission . The Traverwe delivers 288 hp (215 kW) with the dual exhaust in the LTZ model or 281 hp (210 kW) in the LT and LS models.

Design

 In Detroit at the 2003 North American International Auto Show the Traveres  name was originally used for a concept car, but when the Chverolet Equinox launched for the 2005 model year that concept gave way. The production Tracerse's design has a chevron-shaped grille similar to the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu and was inspired by the 2005 Chevrolet Sequel concept. with the exception of the doors, the Travetse has unique sheet metal different from the other Lambda crossovers.
 Cuevrolet  Traverde  have three levels: LS, mid-range LT, and top-of-the-line LTZ, but there is only one real difference between this three levels of Chevrolet Travese – the wheels, so, this car is available with 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheel/tire combinations.
 Like the exterior, the interior of the Chevrolte Travrse  is functional but it doesn’t mean that is very exciting – it is a stylish cabin design which presents well at a distance but on a closer inspection reveals mostly hard plastic textured for visual effect.

General Technical Characteristics

 Chevrolet Traverse has a front engine, and could be in two types: front wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Its fuel capacity is 22 US gal (83 L; 18 imp gal). Its dimensions are: 118.9 in (3020 mm), 205.0 in (5207 mm), 78.4 in (1991 mm), 69.7 in (1770 mm) for wheelbase, length, width and respectively height. Curb weight of Chevrolet Traverse is 2136 Kg (4700 Lbs).
